Space for innovations!
BioMedicine Centre Bochum
Founded in 2009 on the campus of the Ruhr-University Bochum, the BioMedicine Centre Bochum (BMZ) provides young life science and healthcare companies with approx. 5,200 m2 space for office- and laboratory premises to be used for the development, production, and market launch of new products, technologies, and services. The activities of the BMZ are especially focused on transferring research findings from the university, nearby clinics, and medical schools into marketable products or technologies.
Technology Centre RuhrThe Technology Centre Ruhr (TZR) is right next door to the medical faculty of the Ruhr-University Bochum. It comprises over 18,000 m2 of office, laboratory and workshop space. It is currently home to 60 different companies from a variety of sectors.
It offers flexible spaces which can be adapted individually to the needs of young growing companies. There are attractive conference rooms for congresses, training or product presentations, as well as services and catering as required.
Centre for IT Security
The ZITS centre for IT security was set up in 2003 as a location for IT security SMEs and as an education and training venue for the sector. The ZITS is located at the Technologiequartier Bochum technology quarter, in close vicinity to the scientific institutes and facilities of Bochum’s university which, in particular thanks to the Horst-Görtz-Institute for IT security (HGI), enjoys an excellent global reputation in this field.
BO-I-T is a non-university, interdisciplinary research and development centre. It links the worlds of science and business and facilitates the conception, financing and implementation of collaborative research between these areas.
