Centre for Natural Medicine in the BioMedical Science Park Bochum
First preparations are underway for yet another organisation to settle in the BioMedical Science Park: the municipal Entwicklungsgesellschaft Ruhr-Bochum mbH (EGR) has sold the third plot: Dr. Isabell Hoffmann-Klose and her husband Dr. Joachim Geza Klose are going to set up the “Centre for Natural Medicine in Research and Practice” on the approximately 2,800 m² plot.
The purchasers are also the “spiritual founders” of the project. For over 20 years they have been actively involved in complementary medicine in their own practice in Altenbochum. But now the projects will be extended and a centre is being set up where natural medicine can be researched and developed according to a scientific approach. The qualified doctors and alternative practitioners will be working with numerous companies from Germany and abroad. Key topics at the centre will include prevention and aftercare for cancer patients, allergies and biological therapies for acute and chronic illnesses.
“At the BioMedical Science Park right next door to the Healthcare Campus NRW, we have found the perfect place to continue and extend our activities in the field of natural medicine. We hope to benefit from many synergy effects within this extremely competent environment”, Dr. Hoffmann-Klose explains. Construction of the centre will begin in the spring of 2012. “Completion is planned for the end of the year at the latest”, the Bochum architect Dipl.-Ing Jörg Wagner tells us.
All in all, three new construction projects will be implemented at the BioMedical Science Park over the next few months. And talks are ongoing with other interested parties too.
